The Bellingham Herald has a story about a delay in plans to elevate Slater Road, near the Lummi Reservation:
A project to elevate a floodprone section of Slater Road won’t start as scheduled this spring, while local governments scramble to find another $2.67 million needed for the project, officials said.
Whatcom County and the Lummi Indian Business Council want to elevate about 2,000 feet of Slater Road and build about 375 feet of bridge to allow floodwater to pass under the road.
