Proposed Dock in Gamble Bay Approved

The Kitsap Sun has published a follow up story to the proposed dock to be constructed in Port Gamble Bay, across the way from the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe’s reservation. The dock has been approved, but the tribe plans to appeal.

The Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe, which is concerned about damage to herring spawning areas and shellfish beds, has filed an administrative appeal of a permit issued by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. The tribe also intends to appeal the county shoreline permit, said Tribal Chairman Ron Charles.
