The Kitsap Sun published an indepth story on the new selective chinook fisheries regulations, set by the tribes and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife several weeks ago. The regulations were set during their annual meeting, where the co-managers establish rules for the upcoming fishing season. The Suquamish Tribe’s fisheries director Rob Purser is featured in the article.
The newspaper also posted a video in the multimedia section of its Web site on how the NWIFC’s automatic tagging trailer works and the benefits of using such a process when marking hatchery fish.
