Indian County Today ran a piece by Billy Frank Jr. about how much work has been done in the past two years by the president:
These steps that the Obama administration has taken in just a couple of short years are like medicine for us. Indian country hasn’t seen this kind of attention in quite a while.
The Obama administration has opened many new doors for us. Now, when we travel back to Washington, D.C., with our Columbia River and Great Lakes tribal partners, we are not just being listened to. We are being heard. And that means our salmon, water, forests and wildlife are being heard, too.
Thank you, President Obama, for what you are doing for Indians and the natural resources that sustain us. Keep up the good work.
